UMOC WORKSHOP: Ukrainianize Your Accessories

  • SVI 620 Spadina Avenue Toronto, ON, M5S 2H4 Canada (map)

Ukrainianize Your Accessories with Dayna Konopelny

Designer Dayna Konopelny is well-known in the Ukrainian community for her ingenious re-purposing of Ukrainian textiles to transform modern wardrobe pieces. Participants will be encouraged to bring in their own components, but the Museum will be providing canvas tote bags to work with.

In this workshop, participants will repurpose their own tote bag or one provided by the Museum. Participants can bring their own familial textiles or work with ones provided from the Museum’s and Dayna’s collection. Dayna will guide participants through the design process to reimagine cultural textiles onto an everyday item, the canvas tote. If you would like to bring your own tote or bag and want to confirm if it is suitable to work with, please email Dayna at emilkakono@gmail.com.

In-person workshop – English
