Free Virtual Demonstration
Gather a few friends and family virtually and join Lemon Meringue Studio's Slava Iwasykiw and Sonia Potichnyj as they demonstrate baking a traditional Easter Syrnyk or cheesecake. Derived from the word syr meaning cheese, Slava and Sonia’s version is baked in a sweet pastry crust, topped with a decadent three cheese blend. Get tips, tricks and techniques from these veteran chefs who will be online after the demo to answer your questions and show you the step-by-step approach.
Make it easy for yourself! Buy a complete SYRNYK BAKING KIT with all the pre-measured baking ingredients you need from Lemon Meringue Studio. You'll have three Syrnyks to share with family, friends and neighbours. If you're outside the GTA, see the list of ingredients on this page. Watch the demo and bake the cheesecake later.

About our chefs Slava Iwasykiw and Sonia Potichnyj
Lemon Meringue Studio is excited to join the SVI Culinary Series. Here’s their story.
Food has played a major role in our lives for over 30 years. It started with a home-based catering company in the 1980s that grew to a successful restaurant in the Robert Mclaughlin Art Gallery in Oshawa.
These combined experiences led us to open a food shop with elaborate pastries, a restaurant with simple yet exquisitely executed offerings, and a catering business in Bloor West Village in Toronto. Lemon Meringue branched out and provided seasonal baked goods to fine epicurean stores such as Bruno’s, Pusateri’s, Hudson Bay Company and Holt Renfrew.
Recently we’ve introduced a cooking studio offering cooking demos and hands-on workshops.
As with any other food businesses, Lemon Meringue has dealt with the challenges brought on over last year. 2020 has led us to create a collection of dinner boxes, and the production of small batch preserves, spice blends and vinaigrettes – easy ways to satisfy the foodie in you.
